Aircraft GuidesBillionaire Jets: The Most Expensive Private Jets Flying Right Now
More than 150 billionaire-class jets are in the air at a busy moment. Which models they are, what they cost, where they fly, and how to watch them live.
At any busy moment of the day, well over a thousand business jets are in the air. Most are light and midsize jets flying one or two hour hops. A small group is different: the long-range flagships that cost $45 million or more new. We call them billionaire-class jets, because that is who usually buys them.
When we checked our live ranking of the most expensive jets in the air on 27 September 2026 at 20:05 UTC, it counted 158 billionaire-class jets flying and 1,146 business jets tracked in total. Priced new, the jets in the air that minute were worth about $27 billion.
Here is which jets make that list, what they cost to buy and to charter, and how to watch them fly in real time on our 3D live map, where the billionaire-class jets show in blue.

1. What Counts as a Billionaire Jet
There is no official definition. We use a simple rule: a business jet type with a list price of $45 million or more when new. That covers the large-cabin, long-range jets from Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault. These jets fly 11 to 15 hours non-stop, carry 12 to 19 passengers, and have separate rooms: a lounge, a dining area, a bedroom and a shower on the biggest models.
Airliners converted for private use, such as the Boeing Business Jet and the Airbus ACJ, cost even more. They are not in our ranking because the live feed we use tracks business jet types only.
