How much does it cost to charter a turboprop?
Single-engine turboprops such as the Pilatus PC-12 or Daher TBM start from roughly $1,500-2,200 per flight hour all-in, twin turboprops such as the King Air 250 or 350 from about $2,000-3,000, and the Piaggio Avanti from around $3,000. Your quote depends on route, positioning, landing fees and waiting time.
Is a turboprop safe?
Yes. Modern turboprops use turbine engines like jets, are flown by professional crews and are operated under the same air operator certificates. The PC-12 and King Air are among the most widely used business aircraft in the world.
Turboprop or light jet?
For trips under about two hours, into short runways, or when price matters most, a turboprop is usually the better choice. For longer trips or when speed and altitude matter, a light jet is faster and flies higher above the weather.
How many passengers fit in a turboprop?
From 4-5 in a TBM or Piper M600 to 6-9 in a King Air or PC-12, and up to 15 in a Twin Otter. Tell us your luggage too, turboprops are often more generous with space than light jets.
