How much does a private helicopter charter cost?
Light single-engine helicopters such as the Robinson R44 or Airbus H125 start from roughly $900-3,500 per flight hour, twin-engine types such as the AW109 or H145 from around $3,500-6,000, and large helicopters such as the Sikorsky S-92 from about $9,000. These are indicative all-in figures; your quote depends on the route, positioning, landing fees and waiting time.
Where can a helicopter land?
At airports, heliports and licensed helipads, and at private sites where the landowner agrees and local rules allow it. We check landing permissions for every request; city centres usually require a licensed heliport.
How many passengers fit in a helicopter?
From 3 in a Robinson R44 to 6-8 in an AW109, H145 or S-76 and up to 19 in a Sikorsky S-92 or Airbus H225. Luggage space is limited, so tell us what you are bringing.
Single-engine or twin-engine?
Single-engine helicopters are cheaper for short hops in good weather. Twin-engine helicopters are required for many city-centre and over-water flights and are the usual choice for VIP and corporate travel.
How far in advance should I book?
Many flights can be arranged within 24 hours, but peak events (Monaco Grand Prix, Cheltenham, Silverstone, ski season weekends) sell out weeks ahead.
