Flying private to Courchevel
Courchevel's own altiport is a short, steeply sloped runway on the mountain, open only to helicopters and small aircraft flown by specially trained pilots. Jets land at Chambéry or Geneva, and a helicopter or car covers the rest.
Chambéry is the closest jet airport, around an hour and a half by road, and very busy on winter Saturdays when the chalets change over. Geneva is further by car but has more space and more flights, and a helicopter from either reaches the altiport in well under an hour.
From London or Paris a light jet makes the trip easily; from Dubai a super midsize or larger jet flies non-stop.
Can a jet land?
Not at the altiport: it is only for helicopters and small specialist aircraft. Private jets land at Chambéry or Geneva, then a helicopter or car takes you to Courchevel.
