The Cessna Citation X+ in detail
The Citation X+ (2014) is the updated Citation X, the jet that for years was the fastest civil aircraft in service after Concorde, cruising close to the speed of sound.
A long, stand-up cabin seating around 8 to 9, usually in a club and facing seats, with a rear lavatory. It is narrower than the super midsize jets it competes with, traded for speed.
Why charter it
- Speed: it saves time on longer flights, such as coast to coast across the US.
- A stand-up cabin and good range for a jet of its size.
Worth knowing
- The cabin is long rather than wide; if cabin width matters more than speed, a Challenger 350 is roomier.
- Production has ended, so the fleet is small; availability varies by region.
Often compared with: Bombardier Challenger 350, Cessna Citation Longitude, Dassault Falcon 2000LX, Gulfstream G280
